WorkSpace Interiors, an authorized Steelcase dealer, is pleased to announce its acquisition of fellow Steelcase dealer, Bentco in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The acquisition will enable clients and influencers along the East Tennessee footprint to engage WorkSpace Interiors, a full service commercial furniture dealership, in future workplace opportunities.

Bentco Owner and CEO, Ed Bentley, is a Chattanooga native and is retiring after 48-years in the commercial furnishings and office supply business. Bentley started his journey in 1973 at a Steelcase dealership owned by Hudson Ireland. “He changed my life,” says Bentley. “He gave me an opportunity to learn various roles-from truck driver to warehouse operations and project manager for installations. I gained knowledge and confidence, and most importantly learned how to treat people.”
After over 20 years, he left to go out on his own. Bentley leveraged the local Business Development Center to help launch his business. “I’ve always wanted to own my own business,” says Bentley. “I had this opportunity and wanted to be an inspiration for young black men in the Chattanooga community–to show them if I could make it happen, they can too.” Bentley is passionate about his community and wanted to see more diversity in the business community.
“We are building on the legacy that Ed has established,” says Feathers. “We are committed to the communities we serve and look forward to building on existing relationships and to enrich the lives of those we engage with.”
